Our story
Specialty Steel Corporation was founded in 2011, with the aim of serving the European market with extra UE semifinished steel products.
SSC was born from the deep knowledge of the steel cores and transformers producers and has a specific focus on electrical steel coils.
In 2022, SSC wanted to expand its horizons in a new but related field, and the Raw materials trading desk was born.
SSC was thus able to integrate its existing products portfolio with the majority of the industrial minerals
in the refractory and steel sectors.

This is only one of the reasons why SSC is proud to operate in the refractory raw materials and steel making additives recycling.
The customer demands and SSC is giving a firm answer to the recycling necessity towards those materials that can have a second life and application in the steel and refractory fields, to reduce the steelmaking carbon footprint and emissions.
In order to provide greener and sustainable solutions to the steel and refractory producers, SSC developed several partnerships all around Europe with sources and customers having the same interest towards raw their materials needs: To increase the output and the consumption of recycled raw materials.
SSC connects, thanks to its deep network, recycling plants and end users to give a new life to those products that can perfectly fit in a new finished product recipe.
Last but not least, SSC is actively taking part to the development of a new recycling project getting involved several partners for the creation of a brand new recycling site that could itself recover steel scrap and refractory finished products in favor of reusable raw materials in the steel production cycle.
